Acupuncture

Acupuncture, dating back over 2,000 years in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is believed to stimulate the body’s innate healing abilities. It targets specific points on the body, known as acupoints, which are interconnected through a network of meridians. These meridians are believed to be the pathways through which vital energy, or “Qi,” flows. By inserting needles into these points, acupuncture aims to restore the balance of Qi, facilitating the body’s natural healing processes. Acupuncture has a well-established reputation for effectively addressing a wide range of health complaints, both physical and mental. It is known for its drug-free, non-invasive, and safe approach to treatment, making it a valuable alternative for those seeking relief from pain and various medical conditions. While the effectiveness of acupuncture can vary depending on the individual and the condition, it has stood the test of time, helping millions of people worldwide.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine is part of one of the greatest medical systems of the world – Traditional Chinese Medicine. As a result, it has an unbroken tradition dating back to the 3rd century BC. It continues to sustain itself and prove effective through many areas of research. Chinese Herbal Medicine is believed to expedite the healing process, and strengthen, support, and tonify the body. Chinese herbal formulas can address the underlying root cause of various medical conditions, whether acute or chronic. Oftentimes, Chinese herbs are prescribed together with acupuncture to improve treatment outcomes and the patient’s overall health.

Fire Cupping

Fire cupping is traditionally used to encourage blood flow through the body, helping to relieve pain from injuries and musculoskeletal complaints. As well, it has been shown beneficial for respiratory infections, low immunity, and other chronic conditions. Fire cupping can be a stand-alone treatment, but is often used alongside acupuncture.

Moxibustion (moxa)

Moxa is used in several ways in TCM, most commonly, as a tonification treatment, making the body stronger and more resilient. Moxa may be used for pain complaints that have a “cold nature”, and is believed that it enters into the specific meridians, expelling the cold from them. Additionally, moxibustion is also used for breech presentation in pregnancy. Most often, moxa will be incorporated into your overall TCM treatment, and used alongside acupuncture.

Osteopathy (Manual Osteopathic Therapy)

Osteopathy is a set of hands-on assessment and treatment techniques which aims to restore proper function to the body. Osteopathic Therapy looks at the body in a wholistic way, addressing underlying causes of disfunction. Osteopathy can reduce symptoms as well as improve overall health.
